He is redheaded white, she's Chinese. Might children have red hair?

What will the children look like in terms of coloring and hair? Anyone seen a cross like this? Nice or not?

the child will have black hair because black hair is dominant and red hair isnt. unless the girl has red haired ancestors. but it will probably be black

They say Genghis Khan had red hair...

That would be funny as hell, like Carrot top for Asia. They don't have a good Carrot top for Asia yet. The odds are against that poor kid.

It could happen... it's just a matter of whose and which chromosomes are dominant at that critical moment.

Someone stop gingerkids before they breed!!!!!!!!!!!

I have seen redheaded white + Korean. Kids were redheaded with Asian coloring. Sounds weird, but they were very attractive.

Red hair is an extremely dominant trait. I have three different children who have three different daddies. Even though my hair is light brown with auburn highlites, and all three dads had dark hair and eyes, all three kids have gorgeous red hair and green, hazel and blue eyes.

Also, I have 7 brothers and sisters who had a mom with strawberry blonde hair and a dad with dark hair. (he was Cajun French) All but one have red hair and blue, hazel or green eyes.

Good luck. Any what does hair color matter, anyway? The important thing is that the baby is happy, healthy and bathed in the love of it's parents.

probably like chinese Bozo.

A child can only have red hair if both parents have the gene and give it to them. It's possible that the woman has the gene for red hair but not have red hair because the gene is recessive, not dominant like black or brown hair. As long as one of her parents or grandparents has red hair, the child will have the possibility of having red hair. Any above grandparents and it's not likely - still possible, but not too likely.

Well, I believe red hair results from lack of hair pigments, which means the father is homozygous for lack of pigments. Assuming she is 100% Chinese, she is probably homozygous for pigments. Using simple mendalian genetics in a punnet square, all the children will be heterozygous but the pigment genes will be dominant. So the answer will be that none of their children will have red hair, but the grandchildren might be.

highly unlikely. Brown hair is the dominate gene. Only way they might have red-headed kid is if she has some mixed genetics in her blood.
